La Salle Dominates, Sets Up Final Showdown with UP in UAAP Season 87 Men’s Basketball Finals

The Green Archers are poised to defend their UAAP title against their arch-rivals, the Fighting Maroons. La Salle showcased a dominant performance, crushing Adamson, 70-55, in the Final Four.

Led by back-to-back MVP Kevin Quiambao, the Green Archers were in complete control. Quiambao's 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocks were instrumental in securing the victory. Joshua David contributed 11 points, while Michael Phillips impressed with a versatile performance of 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 2 blocks.

Coach Topex Robinson expressed excitement about the upcoming finals rematch against UP: "It's nice to be back in the finals. They haven't had a complete lineup, and that's one thing we haven't seen. But in this finals, it's all about how we'll be prepared, and it will only make us better."

Adamson, despite a late surge, couldn't overcome La Salle's dominance. Royce Mantua led the Soaring Falcons with 14 points, while Cedrick Manzano nearly achieved a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds. However, the absence of key players like AJ Fransman and Jhon Calisay due to illness significantly impacted their performance.

The stage is set for an epic showdown between La Salle and UP, starting on December 8th.
