Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez chaired the 2024 Bar Examinations Committee. The SC again utilized a computer-based examination program allowing examinees to take the test securely on their own devices. Aspiring lawyers took the exam in-person at their chosen venues, supervised by proctors, and monitored through CCTV.
Prior to the official release of the results, reliable sources provide updates on the possible release time. The Summit Express will share live updates on its platform and social media accounts.
The 2024 Bar Examinations concluded successfully with 10,490 out of 10,504 hopefuls completing all three exam days. The youngest examinee was 23, while the oldest was 78. A total of 12,246 applicants initially applied, but some withdrew due to various reasons.
The SC is expected to release the list of topnotchers and top law schools, similar to previous years. In 2020/21, the SC recognized examinees with "exemplary performance" instead of releasing a topnotcher list.
The 2024 Bar Examinations covered six core subjects: Political and Public International Law, Commercial and Taxation Laws, Civil Law, Labor Law and Social Legislation, Criminal Law, and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises. To pass, bar hopefuls must obtain a general average of at least 75%.
The Philippine Bar Examinations, overseen by the Supreme Court, are considered the most prestigious and challenging professional licensure exam in the country. The SC conducts the exams to ensure the admission of qualified individuals to the legal profession. The bar exam has undergone various formats and passing rates over the years, with recent years seeing significant improvements in passing percentages.
