Christmas came a little early for a lucky bettor from Cavite province! The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Tuesday that a single ticket holder from Trece Martires City walked away with the whopping PHP55 million jackpot prize in Monday night's Grand Lotto 6/55 draw.
The winning combination for the December 16th draw was 21-40-15-55-10-54, and it brought immense joy to one lucky individual. The total jackpot prize amounted to PHP55,648,009.00, a life-changing sum for the winner.
While one person claimed the top prize, the draw also produced other winners. Seven lucky individuals matched five out of the six winning numbers, each receiving PHP100,000. Additionally, 499 bettors will get PHP1,500 for correctly guessing four numbers, and 11,104 others will receive PHP60 for matching three numbers.
The PCSO reminds all winners that they have one year from the draw date to claim their prizes, as mandated by Republic Act 1169. To claim their winnings, individuals must visit the PCSO main office on Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. Winners are required to write their names and signatures on the back of their winning tickets and present two valid government-issued IDs for verification purposes.
It's important to note that any lottery winnings exceeding PHP10,000 are subject to a 20% tax as per the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
The Grand Lotto 6/55 offers Filipinos the chance to win life-altering sums every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. So, if you're feeling lucky, grab your ticket and see if you might be the next big winner!
