LeBron James and Steph Curry Deliver Christmas Day Showdown as Lakers Defeat Warriors

The NBA's Christmas Day showcase lived up to its billing as LeBron James and Steph Curry delivered another instant classic in their storied rivalry. The Los Angeles Lakers edged the Golden State Warriors 115-113 in a thrilling encounter that came down to the final seconds.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both James and Curry showcasing their legendary skills. Curry, with his signature long-range accuracy, drained a stunning 31-foot three-pointer to tie the game with just 7.1 seconds remaining.  But the Lakers had the final say, as Austin Reaves drove to the basket for the game-winning layup with only 1.1 seconds on the clock.

James led the Lakers with 31 points and 10 assists, carrying the offensive load after teammate Anthony Davis exited the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury.  Reaves had a breakout performance, recording a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Curry put on a show for the Warriors, scoring 38 points, including 8-of-15 shooting from beyond the arc.  Anthony Wiggins contributed 21 points and 12 rebounds for Golden State, who despite the loss, provided a captivating performance.

"Today is the day of giving, and that's what me and Steph continue to do and try to do for our fans, for our beautiful game," James said after the game.  He acknowledged the special nature of their rivalry and the importance of giving back to the game that has given them so much.

This Christmas Day clash marked James' record 19th appearance on the holiday, further solidifying his status as an NBA icon.  He even took a playful jab at the NFL, stating, "I love the NFL, but Christmas is our day."
