Koshigaya, Japan - The Koshigaya Alphas pulled off a stunning 91-89 overtime upset against the Chiba Jets on Sunday evening, and they did it with heavy hearts and a dedication to their injured teammate, Kai Sotto.

Soichiro Inoue, whose clutch three-pointer late in overtime sealed the victory, was emotional in the post-game interview.  Donning Sotto's #11 jersey, a tearful Inoue declared, "Kai, we won!"

"I can't do the things that Kai can do," Inoue admitted, "but there are other things I can do to help the team run smoothly.  Actually, I have to do that."

Inoue, known for his sharpshooting, acknowledged the need to step up in Sotto's absence. "I can increase the spacing in our offense with my three-pointer, and I have to keep up with the perimeter players more than Kai could. We have different strengths, and I will contribute in my own way."

The Alphas are reeling from the loss of Sotto, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear last week against the Seahorses Mikawa. The 7-foot-3 Filipino center was a key presence for Koshigaya, and his absence leaves a significant void.

Despite the setback, the Alphas showed incredible resilience against the favored Jets.  The victory brings their record to 9-21, while Chiba falls to 19-11 after the unexpected defeat.

This emotional win serves as a testament to the team's unity and their commitment to playing for their fallen comrade.  As the Alphas navigate the remainder of the season without Sotto, they will undoubtedly carry his spirit and this inspiring victory with them.
