The Philippine Army Commanding General Lieutenant General Eduardo Ano has announced that the Philippine will be receiving 155-millimeter Towed Howitzers by this year, during the 119th founding anniversary of the military service March 22.
"We are also expecting the arrival this year of additional infantry fighting and fire-support vehicles, 155-millimeter howitzers, light-utility vehicles, 60 mm mortars, 40-mm grenade launchers, rocket launcher light units and 50-watt armored vehicle configuration radios," General Ano said as quoted by Business Mirror.
The ATHOS is an autonomous, computerized 155mm towed howitzer. It is rapidly deployed and operable in difficult terrain, having superior cross country ability using self-mobility.
