53 suspected drug users,peddlers voluntarily surrendered in Kabankalan City Police

53 suspected drug users,peddlers voluntarily surrendered in Kabankalan City Police on Wednesday, Sunstar report. Three were confirmed to be drug pushers and one had undergone rehabilitation. 
All drug personalities came to the station and signed affidavits expressing their intention to stop engaging in illegal drug activities and to help authorities combat the drug problem in the city, Superintendent Rhea Santos said.
"Their decision to voluntary surrender will be treated with utmost respect, and they will be subject to a drug test and will be continuously monitored by police," she added.

Santos said they achieved the cooperation of those who surrendered through intensified information dissemination campaign by barangay officials.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Board of Negros Occidental on Wednesday confirmed through a executive order, authorizing the conduct of random drug test among all Capitol employees.

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Maranon has endorsed to the Provincial Board confirmation Executive Order No.2, series of 2016. The said drug test would be conducted to all capitol employees and he also appealed to employees using illegal drugs to stop.
Even the governor said he is willing to undergo drug test.
