China has launch its Long March 7 rocket, located at the Hainan Island in the South China Sea/ West Philippine Sea. Civil Aviation of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on Saturday, June 25.
"The NOTAM covers an area ranging from approximately 250 kms West of Manila Bay to 430 Kms West of Lingayen gulf," CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said, as quoted by GMA News Online.
Due to the expected China rocket launch affecting western portion of Manila Flight Information Region (FIR), the following airways are closed.
The Long March 7 is the most powerful rocket ever built in China, with capacity to place nearly 30,000 pounds - about 13.5 metric tons - into low Earth orbit, roughly equivalent to the performance of a United Launch alliance Atlas 5 rocket with two solid rocket boosters.
