Miss Vietnam H'Hen Nie's unveils her simple lifestyle to public

Miss Universe 2018 has just concluded recently and Catriona Gray from Philippines bagged the title. However, this year's beauty pageant brings the best story line from every candidates walking the Miss Universe stage. 


One of those is Angela Ponce from Spain, the first-ever  transgender woman competing the Miss Universe 2018 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.

So much so Miss Vietnam H'Hen Nie has the best story to tell that made waves on social media after revealing real life story. From her opening speech, "From nothing, I am here. You can do it," shows a success stories of the first Vietnamese from ethnic minority to represent the most prestigious pageant in the world.

After winning Miss Universe Vietnam, she gave away all her prize money to build a library in her community. She did not get a single money from her prize for herself, instead, she donated the entire $10,000 to schools in the village so that kids can have a proper education.

She decided not to get married at 14-years-old, she  defied their tribe's custom and moved instead to Ho Chi Minh to continue for her education despite her parents wishes.



Facebook page Sash Factor Vietnam recently shared H'Hen Nie homecoming video after she won as Miss Universe Vietnam. 

The video showed H'Hen's simple lifestyle. When she arrived at her village, she was welcomed by her family and they celebrates her success with a simple meal.



Like a typical Asian lifestyle, she ate with her bare hands in a squat position on the floor.

During the gown competition, it was revealed that H'Hen financed her way through college by working as nanny. She was serving food and cleaning houses to get herself  to education.
