Parents of the bullied Ateneo student said son chose dignity

The parents of the bullied Ateneo junior student had spoke up saying that their son should not be pitied because he showed a strong moral foundation.



"We want to see that he is not a loser and that he does not deserve to be pitied; rather, he should be exalted for his sense of dignity and justice beyond his years," the parents said in a statement as reported by GMA News.

Recently, the viral clip captured the boy saying what will happen if the bullied boy would choose to keep his dignity: "Kasi kung pinili niya ang dignidad, papaluhurin ko siya, tapos hahalikan niya ang pareho kong sapatos, tapos ipapahalik ko sa kanya 'yung bayag ko." (if he chooses to keep his dignity, I would make him kneel, kiss my shoes, and kiss my genitals.)

Ateneo De Manila University on Sunday reported its decision to dismiss Joaquin Montes, the junior high school student caught on bullying another student in a washroom of the school.

"After a thorough investigation that included listening to all parties involved, the decision of the administration is to impose the penalty of DISMISSAL on the student caught bullying another student in the comfort room of the school," Villarin said in a statement  posted on Ateneo Facebook page.
