Bird Box blindfold challenge resulted to car crashed - police

Salt Lake City - Police report said that Utah teenager crashed into another car when she covered her eyes as part of the so-called "Bird Box Challenge."



On Friday, the 17-year-old drifted into incoming traffic and hit another car after she pulled a hat over her eyes to do "Bird Box," a Netflix viral movie where characters must be blindfolded constantly to avoid vision that urge them to die.

The video went viral online and attracted people of trying to do things while covering their eyes which resulted to adverse and sudden effect.

Netflix had tweeted a warning about the challenge last week.

@laytonpolice January 11,2019, No one was hurt in the Monday crash north of Salt Lake City.

"It should serve as a warning he never thought he'd have to give: Don't drive while blindfold," Lyman says.
