The Secret To Your Success Is Who You Marry - Study

Believe it or not, success has something to do with your partner in life. Lots of factor go into success, but according to study if you want to be successful in general, you should consider who you're going to marry.

"Behind every successful man is a good woman," the saying that we often heard is true for both success.

In fact, the study said, people with supportive spouses are "more likely to give themselves the chance to succeed."

Researchers has made a conclusion after studying 163 married couple. Each couple was given a task - to solve a simple challenge or to compete for a prize. Researchers recorded each couple's interactions with each other.

They found out that those couple with more encouraging and supportive partners were more likely to pass the challenge, while those with discouraging  partners opted to solve the simple challenge.

The study doesn't stop from there. They found something more interesting when they followed up thesame couple few-months later. Those who took on the more challenging exercises was reported having better relationships, growth, mental well-being, and generally the most happiest couple.

Brooke Feeney, the lead author of the study and professor of psychology in CMU's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences said:

“We found support for the idea that the choices people make at these specific decision points—such as pursuing a work opportunity or seeking out new friends—matter a lot for their long-term well-being.

“Significant others can help you thrive through embracing life opportunities. Or they can hinder your ability to thrive by making it less likely that you’ll pursue opportunities for growth.”

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former US President Barrack Obama, and Beyonce are those few of the most iconic couples out there achieve the level of success.

“Priscilla’s the most important person in my life so you can say, it’s the most important thing I built in my time here,” Zukerberg said during his Harvard commencement speech.

“Obviously I couldn’t have done anything that I’ve done without Michelle. You were asking earlier what keeps me sane, what keeps me balanced, what allows me to deal with the pressure. It is this young lady right here… Not only has she been a great first lady, she is just my rock. I count on her in so many ways every single day.” former US president Barack Obama said in 2011 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man. It just gives me such a foundation,” Beyonce," Beyonce said.
