SABOR BISAYA 2019 to shine light on evolutionary gastronomy

Heads up, foodies - the Culinary Competition and Food Expo is Back as Sabor Bisaya kicked off at SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City from August 22 to 24, 2019. The three-day Sabor Bisaya expo highlights the continues development of local cuisine and build a culinary identity that is truly Filipino.


Sabor Bisaya, a food exposition and culinary competition was held every two years, is an initiative to expose all the stakeholders - from farmers to hoteliers and restaurateurs, even policymakers and educators. It is spearheaded by the Hotel and Restaurants Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO), dubbed as "KKK: Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangan Kulinarya".



With a more defined locations in SMX Convention, this year's Sabor Bisaya features various sub-events for both expo-goers and exhibitors happening for three straight days.

It was participated by at least 34 exhibitors from Negros Occidental, Cebu, and Manila, the source of major food ingredients, equipment, and service. A total of 16 culinary competitions are participated in by students and professionals in Negros, Panay, and Siquijor.


Joining in are Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, Bacolod Academy for Culinary Arts, College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific, Colegio de San Agustin Bacolod, VMA Global College, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation, La Consolacion College Bacolod, Iloilo Sicence and Technology, STI West Negros University, Southland College-Kabankalan, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, St. Therese College, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, and Colegio de Santa Catalina de Alejandria- COSCA.
