Samar, Philippines - Four soldiers were killed on the spot while seven other individuals including 8th Civil Military Operation Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Orbito is hurt in a road mishap in Paranas, Samar this morning.
According to the initial report, a wing van was traversing the national highway to Catbalogan City at about 9 a.m. when it accidentally hit a tricycle and then swerved to the opposite way lane that crashed into the Toyota Hilux with soldiers onboard.
This resulted to the death of SSgt. Crisostomo Gabuay, Sgt. Sherwin Antonio, Sgt. Romel Ombrog and 2nd Lt. Sharefe Cabanog.
Authorities of the Paranas Minicipal Police Station are still investigating the incident while the injured victims were brought to the hospital.
