Filipino racer Amber Garcia passes away after a deadly accident at the 2019 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship

The 16-year-old Filipino racer Amber Garcia lost his life in a deadly accident that happened during the 150cc underbone race at the Chang International Circuit in Burriam last Sunday. 

Amber suffered injury in a racing incident at turn 7 on Lap 3 of the Underbone 150cc Race 2 at the Chang International Circuit for the season finale of the 2019 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.

He received medical attention at the Medical Centre before being transferred to the Buriram Hospital. Despite the best efforts of circuits medical staff and those at the hospital, Amber sadly succumbed to his injuries on December 5 at 1737 Hrs. local time.

This season Garcia had secured several victories and the title of sniper 150, he  he secured the national series of Philippines reserved for Underbone 150cc scooters. In the ARRC Yamaha Philippine Team, he debuted as a UMA Racing driver on a Sniper 150 supported by the parent company.

The FIM Asia President and its Board of Directors, Two Wheels Motor Racing, National Motorcycle Sports & SAfety Association of the Philippines and the FIM ASia Road Racing Championship family convey their heartfelt condolence to the family, friends, and loved ones of Amber Garcia.
