Men with "Super Sperm" In Public Pools Could Possibly Get Women Pregnant, Indonesian Official Said

An Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) official Sitti Hikmawatty warned all women in a nine-minute-video to be careful when swimming in a public pool with male friends.

In the interview with Tribune News, she said women could get pregnant even without penetration. Men in swimming pools may become "sexually-excited" when seeing women wearing swimsuits and they tend to ejaculate underneath and release strong type of sperm that can cause women's pregnancy.

“There are certain sperms that are ‘very strong’. Even if there is no penetration, but some men who get aroused in the pool and ejaculate, then there might be a possibility of pregnancy especially if the woman is in her fertile period. Sometimes you don’t know what men will do when they see women in the swimming pool,” she said in Bahasa language.

Shortly after the video spread online, the public was quick to respond expressing their disappointment to the said official.

Citing to a report from The Jakarta Post, Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) executive Nazar told that it was "impossible" for women to get pregnant in a swimming pool.

“The water in swimming pools […] contains chlorine and other chemicals,” he said on Sunday as quoted by Antara news agency. “Sperm cannot survive in these conditions,”he added.

An Indonesian internet comic artist KomikFaktap also created a memes about the surreal claim. He created an inspired parody of Steven Spielberg's 'Jaws' movie and posted on Twitter.

@KomikFaktap captioned his creation saying, "The importance of proper sex education."

In response, KPAI has issued a statement saying that Sitti's views do not represent the organisation.

Sitti, however apologised for her comment, saying that she was wrong and clarified that her statement was her personal understanding.“I apologise to the public for giving an incorrect statement. It was a personal statement and not from KPAI. I hereby revoke the statement. I plead with all parties not to disseminate it further or even make it available.”
