First human trial of potential coronavirus vaccine started in the U.S.

Finally the first human trial of the potential vaccine for the pandemic coronavirus begins today, Monday in the US, according to reports.



A group of 45 healthy volunteers will going to undergo experimental dose to test for potential side effects of the vaccine developed by the National Institutes of Health and drug maker Moderna. Volunteers will not actually be infected with the COVID-19 virus but it contains a harmless genetic code copied from the virus that causes the disease.

Dozens of research groups around the world are racing to create a vaccine, however, experts say it will still take many months to know if this vaccine, or others research will work.
