Manny Pacquiao to run for President of the Philippines in 2022 - Bob Arum

Manny Pacquiao is running for president in 2022, his boxing promoter Bob Arum said. Arum told WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman in a streamed conversation saying, "The first president I think we’ll get as a fighter is little Manny Pacquiao, who told me, once again.

“I did a Zoom telephone call with him, ‘Bob, I’m gonna run in 2022 and, when I win, I want you there at my inauguration.”

The 41-year-old boxing legend and now Senator Manny Pacquiao political career began in 2007 but until now he still not hanging up his boxing gloves, instead keeping up his condition during the home quarantine.

All throughout his professional boxing career, he won 62 out of his 71 fights in nine weight divisions.

It can be recalled that in 2017 when President Duterte was jokingly making his speech during Pacquiao's 39th birthday celebration. "I told him while we were alone, I want you to become president," Duterte said.


"Although Pacquiao is no longer promoted by Arum, the pair may come together one last time for a major fight before Pacquiao moves on to an election battle,"  talksport reported.
