China warns of new disease that is deadlier than COVID

More lethal than COVID?

The Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan has warned its citizens for "unknown pneumonia" which considered more deadly than COVID-19 disease.

According to reports, "1772 deaths have been recorded in the first six months of the year, including 628 people in June alone," the Chinese embassy in the central Asian country said in a statement on its WeChat platform.

"The fatality rate of the disease is much higher than COVID-19," state-run Global Times quoted the embassy's statement which broke out the story on Friday.

“Some 300 people diagnosed with pneumonia are being hospitalised every day," Kazakhstan's healthcare minister chief said on local media.

The department has planned to publish accurate numbers of confirmed cases as early as next week. Noting that the public needs to know the true situation while they are preparing to publish the exact numbers, Kazakh international news agency Kazinform reported.

There are 53,021 cases reported in Kazakhstan and 264 deaths from coronavirus.
