While some cities in the Philippines was able to realise that a designated bike lane is important during the health crisis which has paralyzed portions of public transport, Iloilo has a well-established reputation as a bike-friendly city that most of the Ilonggo must be proud of.

Dubbed as the "Bike Capital of the Philippines," Iloilo have established 11-kms bike lane along the city's Diversion road and selected roads.
According to reports, Iloilo City plans to create an interconnected bike lanes all over the metro to create a safe and model bike-friendly city in the country.
The initiatives through a visionary base, professional experience, and municipal action has been the right combination to drive the city forward. It is also reported that the city has a plan to create a green tunnel for the cyclists, creating a more refreshing lane to bike.

Bike lane is protected by plant barriers. The Iloilo bike lane connectivity project is being implemented by the City Government in collaboration with DPWH and biking advocates.
