Negros Occidental seizes over 10 kilos of dried seahorses worth P460,000

 Negros Occidental Coast Guard seized around 15 kilos of dried seahorses Friday morning, March 26, at the Banago Port in Bacolod City.







According to Coast Guard station commander Captain Ludovico Librilla, the shipment was aboard the M/V FastCat M3 and bound for Iloilo City when they intercepted the package. 







The confiscated package was valued atleast P460,000. According to initial investigation, the items was brought by an unidentified person who paid for the package and supposed will be sent to Iloilo City.







Under the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998, transporting, taking, and selling rare, threatened and endangered fishery products is prohibited. Violators may face a fine of P300,000 to P5 million or a three-to-five year imprisonment if found guilty.
