Ted Failon is in self isolation after tested positive for COVID-19

 Veteran anchor Ted Failon announced today that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In a statement released March 30, he said that he was informed on Sunday night that one of his co-workers had been infected. 







"As soon as I heard the news, I immediately put myself in self-isolation and decided to have myself tested the morning of March 29," he wrote. 







"I am asymptomatic and I will follow the advice to self-isolate and be placed on home quarantine," he added.






He learned that he is positive of the virus on Monday night.







“I am praying that I do not develop any symptom and if at all possible, I can continue working from home, via any communication means that is achievable, given the current state I am in,” he shared.





He then remind everyone to be extra cautious and "take all necessary precautions" to ensure their safety. 







Meanwhile, his co-host DJ Chacha has her words to say after learning the sad news from Ted.




"Mixed emotions kase masaya na negative ako pero malungkot dahil positive ang ibang kasamahan ko sa trabaho."





On Tuesday, March 30, the Philippines has recorded additional 9,296 cases for COVID-19. This is the fifth straight day that the DOH recorded over 9,000 new infections. Currently, the country has 741,181 total cases, death toll of 13,191, and 603,310 recoveries.
