After 3-years in the making, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is finally connected, a major milestone of the P30-billion project.
On Tuesday, October 5, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) and its subsidiary Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) conducted the final concrete pouring for the remaining 2-meter gap of the main bridge deck.
MPTC President Rodrigo Franco and CCLEC President Allan Alfon have witnessed the final closing of the gap. CCLEX is scheduled to open to the public in the first quarter of 2022 with full electronic toll system to enable faster traffic flow and seamless travel.
"After today's main bridge deck connection, we look forward to another milestone and that is opening CCLEX to the public in the first quarter of 2022. We can't wait to see Cebuanos enjoy the ultimate expressway experience afforded by using this bridge," said Allan Alfon.
The 8.5 km expressway project is envisioned not only to help decongest traffic in Metro Cebu but also spur economic development and improve the lives of the people in the area.
