NADINE LUSTRE GO EXTRA MILE TO HELP SIARGAO FOLKS IN THE AFTERMATH OF TYPHOON ODETTE

Nadine Lustre made her journey from Manila To Siargao despite a scary way to the island. The actress really felt the suffering of the people in Siargao, which is expected to celebrate Christmas without electricity



Two days after the flights operation resumed, she, together with her two friends was able to fly from Manila to Laguindingan airport. They rented a van to drive from Laguindingan to CDO for 1 hour and continue their journey to Surigao for 6 hours. They rode a boat for 2 hours until they reach Siargao Island.



As soon as she arrived in the island she didn't waste time, together with the GreenPeace Philippines she join the team to install solar panel in Brgy. Malinao in Siargao so that people could use it as a charging station.




Super typhoon Odette (with international name Rai) ripped down homes, tress, and power lines as well as communication towers. Hundreds of thousands left homeless by the storm.




People were seen pleading on the roads for food and water, surrounded by uprooted tress and toppled debris.




Pictures that resurfaced across the social media reminiscent the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan, known locally as Yolanda, which hit the country in November 2013. That was one of the strongest storm to batter the nation, killing over 6,000 people.




In one of the appreciation post on Instagram read: "This woman made the journey from Manila to Siargao the long and honestly kinda scary way to lend a hand on the island. Extra grateful to her and @jennjfdez fro personally delivering letters I wrote to family since there's been no form of communication until just yesterday," Rachel wrote.
