Siargao Island, known as one of the world's famous island turned ground zero of super typhoon Odette.
The people in the island seems to celebrate Christmas without power, no phone signals, limited supply of water, food, medicines and shelter as super typhoon made first landfall on Thursday, December 16.
The power of the storm was captured on camera by a certain Kirby Abejaron, one of the evacuees inside the newly inaugurated Siargao Sports Complex Gymnasium. Fortunately the terrible scene did not claimed lives, but it could be seen and felt the power of the storm.

The sports complex, situated in Barangay Osmeña in the town of Dapa, Siargao, was just inaugurated by President Duterte last November 6, 2021, just over a month before the storm made its first landfall.
Taken from a camera with lots of evacuees inside where first captured a roof that is flapping open. Then, the lights flicker and suddenly you can see a pale grey sky through a collapsed metal and galvanized steel roofing before the strong gusts blow throughout the space.
And then when it clears, it could be seen a totally collapsed portion of the covered court.
Odette slammed into Siargao island with a maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 270 kph.
At least 15 people deaths have been reported as of Sunday, December 19, according to reports.
