A group of people which appeared to be holding flyers of VP Leni Robredo was caught on camera when it throws flyers to Former Senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. in the middle of his caravan campaign in Bacolod City.
In a now viral video on social media, it can be seen BBM in his campaign truck while greeted his supporters with hand-waving on them when suddenly a flyers was thrown in front of him, hitting his face.
The ill-suited action sparked backlash on social media with BBM supporters dubbed the incident as 'BASTOS' became the trending topic Twitter.
"Your behavior speaks for itself. Again, educated ka pero hindi well mannered. #bastos," one said.
"Haist alam kong ayaw nyo Kay BBM pero mali naman ata yung Ganyan sobrang bastos RESPECT RESPECT!!!"
"Guys, I am a Negrosanon and I am for Leni, but this is not how you do it. You are pushing people away. You cannot go around carrying the "Radikal na pagmamahal" and do shits like this. Ang bastos. This is so disappointing. Stop misrepresenting VP Leni."
Meanwhile, one of Leni's supporters who allegedly throws flyers to BBM identified as 'Rachel Antoinette' explained:
"We were exercising our right to free speech and were out of the way whn Marcos Jr.'s bodyguards started pushing us to the side," she said.
"This act of violence caused the fliers help up by one of the dissenters to fly towards BBM hitting his face.
"I say he deserves it. After what Negros has gone through, the Philippines struggle, the violence towards dissenters then and today," she added.
Other netizens has come to VP Leni's defense.
"Although I do no tolerate this kind of behavior. I wanna call out BBM supporters if what GADON, MAHARLIKA and a lot of you doing?
Isn't it bastos? How many times these people calling VP madumb, bobo etc etc.
Now you are calling others bastos? What the F!"
"Right. It was actually an insult to the Filipinos despite of how many people his parents killed and the money they robbed from the people. That is #bastos"
"Oh and calling the Vice President BOBA, TANGA is not #Bastos ? Please , you guys have been #bastos for the past 6 years with your derogatory name calling and lies. Practice what you preach"
