Five months after the brutal killing of the Maguad siblings, the court found two minors guilty of the killings. A certain "Janice" and a her male companion were still under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Mlang, Cotabato.
The parents of the Maguad siblings who was killed December 10, 2021 inside their house in Barangay Bagontapay, Mlang Cotabato expressed disappointment as they alleged a special treatment was given to the accused.
Crizzle Gwynn Maguad, 18, and her 16-year-old brother were found dead with stabbed wounds.

Cruz Maguad Jr. took to social media to express his disappointment saying, "Let this known to the world...kung gaano ka unfair Ang treatment Ng mga kinauukolan sa victims against the criminals.nahatulan na nga as murderers.
"Sila pa Ang binigyan Ng maximum security.kitang kita sa video na to kung paano nila inaalagaan Ang mga murderers o criminals na yan.ganun ba talaga Ang justice system Dito sa pinas?napatunayan na nga na criminal intensive care pa ibinibigay Ng gobyerno.ni katiting, walang Wala talagang kasalanan sa kanila Ang aming mga anak," Cruz continued.
"Halimaw talaga Ang mga kriminal na Yan.tnadtad nila Ng saksak Ang katawan Ng aming mga anak na walang kasalanan sa kanila.hinding Hindi magagawa Ng normal na tao Ang ganun.demonyo at halimaw lang Ang makakagawa nun," he added.
