ROBIN PADILLA ON FRANKLIN DRILON'S 'MAG-ARAL PO KAYO' REMARK, 'HINDI PO AKO NATATAKOT MAPAHIYA'

 Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon recently shared his advised to newcomer senators, saying, they must study first and observe the tradition in the Senate.




"Magtatanong ang mga kasamahan niyo and will test the validity of your pronouncements.... Makinig muna sa mga nakakatanda. Wala namang masama. Get the feel of it dahil may tradisyon ang Senado."



However, senator Robin Padilla, a first-timer and the first placer in the 2022 Senate race quickly respond to the veteran senator, assuring him that he is not afraid to get embarrassed.




"Manong senador Franklin drilon 

"Mawalang galang po sa inyo

"Hindi po ako natatakot mapahiya 

"Wala pong nakakahiya sa pakikipaglaban hanggang sa huling hininga," he said.


He reiterated to follow the rules of the senate, but vowed not to keep mum because of the tradition that would put him into shame. Adding that he will only bow down to the tradition if he would see 80% of the Filipinos have benefited to it.




"Susundin ko po lahat ang patakaran ng senado kaya po ako nag aaral

"Pero hindi ang manahimik dahil akoy ipapahiya ng tradisyon

"Buong buhay ko akoy ipinahiya na ngunit ito pa rin ako  nakatindig pa rin hawak ang bandila ng Pilipinas 

"Tsaka ko na po yuyukuan ang tradisyon po na inyong sinasambit kapag Meron na pong nakinabang sa 80 porciento ng mga Pilipino naghihikahos," said Padilla on his Facebook post.






Padilla appealed to his fellow lawmakers help him push for charter change.



Padilla, 52, emerged as the No. 1 senator in the elections on his first try with a total 26,612,434 votes.
