Finally Kai Sotto made his NBA Summer League 2023 debut on Friday after three games off the bench.
Sotto showed an impressive moves during a 13-minute play with Orlando Magic. The 21-year-old 7-foot-3 Filipino hopeful shared six points, four rebounds and three blocks. Sotto made the most in Orlando's 88-71 loss on account of the Portland Pioneers at Thomas and Mack Field, Las Vegas.
Sotto joined the game toward the beginning of the second period and had the option to log two bounce back and a block prior to subbing out at the 4:23 mark of a similar quarter.
"It's not good that we didn't win, but we learned a lot from this game," said Sotto in an interview.
"I think we were pretty good defensively. We just got to work on getting better looks. We just have to bounce back," he added.
His debut has sent his Filipino fans into a frenzy after his debut with Twitter users reacted to his long-awaited moment.
Most of them were hoping a more playing time for the young giant.
