Fifteen people tragically lost their lives when a truck carrying livestock traders veered off a rain-slicked road and plunged into a 40-50 meter ravine in Mabinay, Negros Oriental on Wednesday. Two others were injured in the accident.
Initial reports suggest brake failure may have been the cause, according to provincial police spokesperson Stephen Polinar. "The driver lost his brake and lost control," he told DWPM radio station. The ongoing investigation will determine the exact cause and potential charges for the driver.
