Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg joins the ranks of torchbearers for the Paris Olympics! He'll be carrying the Olympic flame through Saint-Denis, a northern Parisian suburb known for its cultural diversity and the Stade de France stadium.
This leg of the journey marks the final stretch before the flame reaches the Eiffel Tower for the opening ceremony on Friday.
The news was announced by Saint-Denis' mayor, Mathieu Hanotin,on social media platform X. "Saint-Denis : last stop before the Eiffel Tower," he wrote, welcoming Snoop Dogg to the international team of torchbearers.
Snoop Dogg's involvement extends beyond the torch relay. He's also contributing to NBC's primetime coverage of the games. Sports fans may already know him for his Snoop Youth Football League, whose championship game is playfully called the "Snooper Bowl."
Joining Snoop Dogg on the torch run in Saint-Denis will be French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar.
