Rock am Ring music festival cancelled after lightning strikes, more than 80 injured - (Video)

Organizers of Rock am Ring festival in Germany stops the performances for several hours on Saturday as lightning strikes. The third day of the festival featuring Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Black Sabbath performance has been cancelled after the thunderstorm, which injured dozens of people.

Organizers said they to stop the festival to ensure the safety of fans. They asked participants to clear the festival grounds by noon on Sunday. Authorities have been revoked the event's licence early due more storms forecast.

The even website recorded initially 52 people were injured during lightning strikes, but the numbers rose to more than 80.



This is the 31st year of the festival, took place in the airport of Mendig, near the Nuerburgring motor racing track.
