At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon "LAWIN" was located based on all available data at 930 km East of Tayabas, Quezon (15.4ºN, 130.1ºE)with maximum sustained winds of up to 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.
Rains and gusty winds with moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the provinces of Cagayan including Calayan Group of Islands, over Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Polillo Islands and Catanduanes. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Eastern Visayas, CARAGA, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to West will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao and CARAGA and from the Northeast to Northwest over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to South with slight to moderate seas.
