Megaworld to invest P28B New York inspired township in Bacolod City

Around P28 billion of development over the next 10 years will be poured to Bacolod City, the first integrated township is in the pipeline as the new business hub.

Businessworld reported that the construction will start the 34-hectare project to be called The Upper East. The township is located near the Bacolod City Government Center will feature a 30-meter, six-lane road, Upper East Avenue, as well as old growth Acacia trees that have been preserved and incorporated into the proposed master planned.

"The Upper East will be the city's first master planned mixed-use community that integrates the live-work-play components of an integrated urban township...Around 35% of the township will be dedicated to parks and open spaces. We are excited to build Bacolod's new and modern central business and lifestyle district,"Megaworld Vice President for Sales and Marketing Rachelle Peñaflorida said in a statement."

Look the master plan of the 34-hectare township project of Megaworld Corp. called "The Upper East" in Bacolod City.

The township will be highlighted by a 30-metter wide, 6 lane Upper East Avenue, which stretches for around one kilometer, connecting Lopez Jaena Street to the Circumferential road.

The entire township is also designed to be flood free, utilizing underground cabling system for power and utility lines, LED and solar-powered streetlights, fiber optic technology, drip irrigation system and water re-use facilities. 

The master planned also features its own New York inspired lifestyle mall composed of several interconnected structures that will provide diverse retail, entertainment and leisure offering. Part of the design of one of the mall's buildings will be inspired by New York City's Grand Central Station.
