PH Showbiz Is Mourning The Loss Of EDDIE GARCIA, Who Has Died At 90

The Philippine showbiz industry mourns over Eddie Garcia's death at 4:55pm, June 20 in Makati Medical Center. The Veteran actor and director was hospitalized on June 8 after a bizarre accident during a taping for GMA's television series 'Rosang Agimat'. He tripped on a cable and fractured his cervical spine.

At first, report said the actor had a heart attack on set but later the news was clarified by his family doctor Enrique Lagman and said the actor was hospitalized due to a severe cervical fracture which he sustained due to the accident.

As soon as the news was revealed, people from the world of showbiz flooded social media with heartfelt tributes.

I always used to come up to this man when we would be in the same events and tell him that if I ever got to his age, I’d like to be as strong as he was. He would just smile and often encourage me by saying he was happy that I was doing ok. It was an honor to have done 2 movies with sir Eddie Garcia. One was under the direction of another legend, the late Lino Brocka for Seiko Films back in the 80’s. And the other was one directed by Elwood Perez for Regal Films also in the 80’s.
