PMA Cadet Darwin Dormitrio's Heartbreaking Message For His Parents Before He Died

The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) confirmed that plebe Cadet Fourth Class Darwin Dormitorio died of hazing. The death of 20-year old cadet was disclosed during a press conference in Baguio City, citing the post mortem examination conducted on the victim ruled Dormitorio died of blunt force trauma. Autopsy report showed bruises on different parts of his body.


The young cadet from Cagayan de Oro City was found unconscious inside the Room 209 of Mayo Hall Annex Wednesday morning. He was rushed to the PMA Station Hospital at around 4 am that day and was declared dead more than hour later.

Friend of the young cadet posted on Facebook a heartbreaking message for his parents before he died. He requested to send a message for his parents while in the hospital after complaining of stomach pains and vomiting. On his message Dormitorio penned some request for his parents to visit him in the hospital. He even told his parents that he already adjusted the academy life and asked for additional money, so that he can buy for an additional uniforms.

"If may oras po kayo, kahit si kuya o ate na lang ang bumisita. Hindi ko alam kung hanghang kelan ako mako-confine. 

"Okay na ako dito sa PMA, nakapag-adjust na ako mga walang tulog na panahon. Maraming events dito sa PMA na pwede bumisita ang magulang pero depende sa inyo kasi magasto of mahal. 

"Ma, Pa, kung makahanap po kayo ng connection para makapagpadala ng pera, kelangan ko bumili ng extra unifirms para hindi na ako plantsa ng plantsa. Lagi akong tulog sa klase kaya baka maapektuhan ang aking acads," He wrote.

Dormitorio's family, meanwhile, took to social media to air their frustration over his death and seek justice.
 Twenty individual are now facing investigation for the alleged direct and indirect involvement of his death on Tuesday dawn. Three of them are considered to be persons of interest who have direct involvement on the incident, while others could be the possible witness.

“PMA will file appropriate administrative charges and shall apply sanctions to all those who will be found responsible for the death of cadet Dormitoryo,” PMA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Ronnie Evangelista said.

Cadet Darwin Dormitorio is a son of retired Army Major William Dormitorio PMA class 1974. Meanwhile, the town of Cagayan and Xavier Ateneo community mourns for his death where he was graduated his Senior High School.
