Joker is now the highest grossing R-rated film of all time worldwide as it bag the top spot at the weekend box office since its opening earlier this month. Joker has become a powerhouse across the globe, making $849 million, including $47.8 million overseas and counting. As of this weekend, Joker narrowly edge past Maleficent:Mistress of Evil as it garnered nearly $850 million worldwide.
The film's impressive opening weekend made Joker the biggest October opener of all time in the US and overseas. In the Philippines alone, Joker cumulative gross as of October 26 is whopping to Php256 million.
Directed, co-written and produced by Todd Phillip's, 'Joker' portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is a man struggling to find his way in Gotham's fractured society. Longing for any light to shine on him, he tries his hand as a stand -up comic , but finds the jokes always seems to be on him.
Here's the estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S and Canadian theaters according to Comscore.
