AFTERMATH OF TYPHOON ODETTE IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL THAT KILLED SIX IN HEARTBREAKING IMAGES

 Heartbreaking photos show the destruction in the province of Negros Occidental caused by heavy rains and strong winds brought by Typhoon Odette, which has killed six people and had left several homes heavily damaged.




The typhoon made landfall around 12-midnight in the island on Thursday, December 16. Kabankalan City, the hard hit area was reportedly 60 percent flooded and some roads linking from the city proper to nearby towns remain impassable as of December 17.






Heavy rains caused rivers around the province to flood, leaving at least over 30,000 were evacuated to government's prepared evacuation centers. Several people were stranded in their homes, and rescue operations continued into Friday.

Stranded residents tried to evacuate going to a safe ground as flood waters continue to slam.




 

Reports said, six casualties were from San Carlos City(1), Moises Padilla (3), Manapla (1), and La Carlota City (1).









Several business establishments and homes were destroyed and remain submerged to flood waters. Rescue operations were hampered due blackout and communications are still down.
