JOHN AMORES SIGNS PRO CONTRACT WITH ZAMBOANGA VALIENTES, RECEIVES LETTER FROM VP SARA

Controversial NCAA basketball player John Amores has apparently received another chance to fulfill his dream to become part of the professional basketball league.

Amores signed contract with Zamboanga Valientes in the Asean Basketball League Invitational.

The former Jose Rizal University forward was welcomed by the team on Thursday which believes that Amores  will be a huge help after he averaged 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13 games.

"We at Valientes believe in second chance. He is a good player who made a mistake which he truly regrets..one mistake does not define who you are," said general manager Nino Rejhi Natividad in a statement.

Amores' punching players from the College of St. Benilde Blazers in an NCAA game last month has been broadcast on live TV, sparking tons of criticisms from the viewers.

"Amores" is love so we believe na he can be a change man this time especially kasama niya mga Zamboangueno na talagang matatapang pero sa lugar," Natividad added.

Amores, meanwhile, showered with love after receiving a letter from Vice President Sara Duterte.

"Feeling blessed," said Amores who quoted a supposed message from the letter, which read, "Remember the lesson not the mistake. You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President."

"It was a great honor Mam thank you for those words of encouragement," he wrote.
