189 passengers of Lion Air flight 610 feared to be dead. The Indonesian Lion Air flight 610 was crashed into the sea minute after takeoff from Kajarta.

According to reports, the plane was flying erratically before it crashed off Java island. Rescue teams were working to bring passengers remains out of the water. But questions are being asked as to what caused the jet to suddenly lose its track.

Search and rescue official says they are not expecting any survivors from the down plane. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 was carrying 181 passengers, as well as six cabin crew and two pilots.

The plane lost contact 13 minutes after takeoff from Jakarta at around 6:20am. As of Tuesday's update, recuers had recovered ten bodies and sent to the hospital for identification, channelnewsasia reported.

Item such as mobile phones, handbags, identity cards and life vests were found scattered in waters.

The finance ministry said that about 20 of its employees were on board. The captain of the plane was identified as Bhavye Suneja, which is according to local media reports, has been identified as an Indian national with at least 6,000 flight hours.
