Moreno had a visit in Ilaya, Binondo. To his surprised, garbage were everywhere. He was so upset and dismayed with Manila vendors after what they've done.
According to the report, the Mayor allowed them to sell in Binondo in return they'll keep it clean and in order. However, after the Mayor's visit they were punished. Their stall were dismantled.
"Tatangalin natin mamaya yung Ilaya Binindo site…Mamaya di na sila makapagtinda… kakasi nagtambak sila ng basura, eh nanawagan naman ako, nakisuyo naman ako sa kanila. Pwede naman maghanap buhay na hindi kelangan magung baboy sa bahay", said Mayor Isko Moreno in an interview.
Some of the seller said, it is unexpected and still early when the Mayor arrived. They were shocked as they can't find nowhere their selling equipment when they arrived in Binondo.
Some also were in tears asking for another chance from Mayor as they have nothing to make a living for their families.
The Mayor makes it clear that nothing has changed with his rules. They can still sell in perpendicular roads in divisoria. That includes Carmen Planaz, El Can, Santo Cristo at Ilaya.
Vendors are no longer allowed to sell in Ilaya, Binindo and Tabora because of the garbages.
The Mayor also sets guidelines for the vendors, "Huwag sila magbigay kahit kanino, kelangan pag may abirya na dadaanan nyan, regular na kalye na dadaanan taposat ang taon nakadadanan ng matiwasay, Moreno said.
The Mayor then added that vendors are not even allowed to sell in these places, Juan Luna Binondo, Soler, Recto from Asuncion to Abad Santos, Carriedo, blooming Street, Pedro Hill and Padre Faura.
Some vendors raised their concern for not allowing them to sell in the places mentioned.
But then the Mayor make it clear to everyone, "May nagpapaputok dito… papayagan na tayo pasko… alalam mo kasi, bakit?... yung mga organizer kating kati na mga puwet nyan na makapaglagay sa mga kung pwede magsulat… na para bang pinipressure kami…"
He then added, "... kapag nakabalik sila, nalagyan na ako".
