Mayor Vico Sotto Gets Free Chicken For Life From This Restaurant

In the light of coronavirus pandemic, Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto has been making headlines for over a week as he made sure that his citizens were protected against coronavirus (COVID-19).

Supports for the young mayor flooded online for the job he did to Pasig amidst the enhanced community quarantine implemented in the entire Luzon.

From launching a free ride for the health workers going in and back home, providing 400,000 food packs, converting hotel into a quarantine facility and more, are some of the excellent job he did during this challenging time.

These visible achievements have brought the attention of Bad Bird restaurant that specializes in "umami fried chicken," has offered the mayor a "lifetime supply of food," the statement from Bad Bird Facebook account read.

"Just walk into any of our restaurants and eat and you will be treated like royalty," the post continued. "(PS. Not a joke.)"

The restaurant cited the mayor as someone who "shown us decisive, grounded, and empathetic leadership defined by principles, not politics."

The post added that "he has done this without a cheesy billboard on EDSA."

Other commenters on Facebook even asked why Bad Bird did not want to donate to frontliners in the midst of pandemic. Bad Bird responded: "We hear you, but we're not exactly in a position to donate. We're also barely staying alive as we've extended financial assistance to our staff and that's all we've got right now. This post wasn't meant to be a donation, but a show of support for a good leader who must be given a larger audience."
