Teacher inspired by 'Birdbox' movie asks students to wear blindfolds during recitations go viral

Teacher Kerwin Membrado of Saint Francis Xavier College in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur has created a unique way of recitation method for his online classes. Inspired by Sandra Bullock's movie 'Birdbox' he asked his students to wear a blindfolds.

While the announcement could be sounds weird during the online class which left the students completely shookt, still they were curious about the activity for that day.

“These diligent students joined the Google Meet with their blindfolds ready. Then, I instructed them about the mechanics of the recitation. Cameras on, microphones on, and blindfolds on,” he told The Philippine Star.

The students was shocked after learning they have to recite with blindfolds on. Membrado called the recitation a "success."'

"Throughout the recitation period, I found that some are anxious, some are relaxed. But most of them had a good performance. I was surprised that our learners today are ready to take on different surprises and challenges to meet the demands of our time," he added.

The Philippines have been conducting distance-learning since the start of the pandemic, and teachers are creating methods to deliver their lessons more interesting to their students.

Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque Jr announced last February 22, that  President Rodrigo Roa Duterte decided once again to defer the implementation of the proposed pilot face-to-face classes in low-risk areas until after the country’s national vaccination program against COVID-19 has been rolled out.
