AROUND 90,000 STUDENTS IN CRISIS RECEIVE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE ON 3RD DAY OF DSWD DISTRIBUTION

 At least 90,000 students in crisis have received the Department  of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) one-time cash assistance on the third day of the department's Educational Assistance on Saturday, Sept. 3.



According to a consolidated report P225.37 million has been distributed to 89,736 students beneficiaries as of Sept. 3.

Part of the overall student-beneficiaries goes to 27,458 elementary (P27.44 million); 19,628 junior high school (P39.08 million); 12,454 senior high school (38.05 million); and 30,196 for college/vocational (P120.78 million). 



The program is intended to help Individual in Crisis Situations or AICS.





The payout will be conducted every Saturday until Sept. 24.



Those considered students in crisis are breadwinners, working students, orphans/abandoned and living with relatives, children of a single parents, children whose parents are unemployed, children of an overseas Filipino worker, victims of child abuse, have a parent with human immunodeficiency virus or HIV, and victims of calamity or disaster. 



DSWD said that 'No Walk-in" applicants will be accepted and only those with text confirmation after their online registration will be processed.
