After a chaotic aftermath during the first day of the Educational Assistance pay-out last August 20, 2022, DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo advised applicants to register online to ensure a swift distribution.
Tulfo made the announcement during the ceremonial signing of the memorandum of agreement on the distribution of educational assistance between the agency and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Wednesday, August 24.
"Ina-announce na po namin na magiging online lang talaga ang pagpaparegister para sa educational assistance payout. Kasi yung sinasabi na pano yung wawlang cell phone (at hindi makapag-register?). Eh uunahin na po namin (yung mga nagpa-register online)," said Tulfo during a joint press briefing between DSWD-DILG.
"Aside from online, puwedeng QR code, puwedeng text kung hindi smartphone ang gamit nila, sasagutin naman namin. There is no more reason na sabihin nilang wala kaming cellphone."
