Manila, Philippines - Duterte administration are pushing for a longer validity of passport and drivers' license. In an interview with Bombo Radyo, incoming Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said he will endorse the measures to Duterte once assumes office on July 1.
Diokno said he will recommend that the validity for the driver's license will be extended to five years from the current three years.
And for the passports, the five-year validity will be extended to 10 years, Diokno said.
Duterte's administration is also
considering cable cars to install in Metro Manila to ease traffic jams,
his incoming transportation secretary said in a report.
Initial talks are ongoing with a company that supplies 35-seater cable cars for commuters in South America and once approved, the new mode of transportation for Manila's 12 million people will be operational in 18 months, incoming minister Arthur Tugade said.
"Pag nagdagdag tayo ng kalsada at nag-construct tayo, lalong
makaka-traffic. Kung gusto mo ng additional capacity, pumunta ka sa
itaas," Tugade told ANC's Headstart."
Diokno said the measures are part of Duterte's instruction for a
service-oriented government, emphasizing that Duterte is keen on a quick
solutions for the problems of Filipinos.
