The Armed Forces of the Philippines recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Airlines (PAL), providing travel privileges to all AFP military personnel by giving a 20-percent discount in all domestic flights.

Aside from the 20% off base fare ticket, all officers and enlisted personnel would now enjoy the free baggage allowance with priority during check-in and boarding.

AFP personnel may book their flights at any PAL ticket office nation wide or through PAL Reservation hotlines. To avail of the discount, they are required to present a valid AFP ID and a travel order for rest and recreation signed by an authorized signatory, PAL announced in their official website.

"Firearm/s should be part of the (soldier) passenger's checked baggage at no additional cost provided it is within the baggage allowance limit. It must be covered by proper authorization, permits, and licenses and may only be accepted for carriage subject to PAL's existing guidelines and procedures. Under no circumstance shall granades or other explosives be allowed on board the aircraft," Col. Noel Detoyato, AFP public affairs office chief said in PNA.
