President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday announced that around 33,000 college children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who was affected by COVID-19 will receive a one-time P30,000 cash assistance.
"Ang tulong po sa edukasyon sa mga anak niyo is a one-time grant of P30,000. The project will be allotted with the amount of P1 billion, which will benefit about 33,000 students from OFW families," Duterte said.
This will be implemented by the Commission on Higher Education through the Unified Financial Assistance for Tertiary Education Act (UniFAST) with the help of the Department of Labor and Employment.
