A Filipina student received with the highest distinction from the prestigious Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
Ellaine Joy Calapao Sanidad, who worked as a professor at the University of the Philippines and as a Chief Intelligence Analyst at the National Coast Watch Center under the Office of the President received her recognition under the Master of Studies in Diplomatic Studies program at the university on December 2.
Ellaine, who hails from Ilocos Norte, is set to graduate with the recognition along with her Oxford degree on March 12, 2022.
“First of all, always the Almighty God. Next, my family, relatives, friends, teachers and mentors, former colleagues and bosses, people who always believed in me,” Ellaine was quoted as saying to Interaksyon.
“I have always been too hard on myself, and it was only recently that I learned how important it is to give myself a tap once in a while for being able to put up with the ever ambitious, difficult me,” she added.
It wasn't her first time to achieve such flying colors, because since she was a child she had always sought for excellence.
She graduated as valedictorian at San Isidro Central School and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Batac, Ilocos Norte as valedictorian. In 2010, she graduated Madna Cum Laude at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.
He latest Oxford success would be her seond postgraduate degree after finishing her Masters of Arts in Speech Communication at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
